Re: Independant courier
Don't do it, its one of the most cutthroat businesses out there & almost impossible to make any money from as an independent.
You'll need to become part of a national network of independents & all the good ones will already have independents in your region. The ones that don't will have your eyes out for membership fees & cost of getting your stuff to the national hub & bringing back deliveries sent from other areas to be delivered in your area.
This is before you've even made your 1st penny, bought/leased a van & paid for fuel.
You'll need to be on the road for deliveries by 7am at the latest & you'll be doing deliveries as well as the odd collection all morning. Afternoon will be spent mostly doing collections & occasionally delivering sameday stuff with a destination in your area. Then from about 6pm you'll be sorting the that needs forwarding to the national hub which if you're lucky you'll be able to handoff by 7.
Then its back up in the early hours to collect the stuff from your national hub for delivery in your area again.
That's pretty much your existence for 6 days a week every week.
