    A mag at work reckons his mate (who is apparently normally spot on with his SAFC info) text him saying Heskey will be signed by the end of the week

    I think he might be getting a bit sick of me winding him up about boycoutts and the like.

    No offence mate but gossip between the drivers and the lads on the loading bay isn't of massive interest

    Not necessarily as unlikely as at first thought. We lack an experienced player up front and he'd provide the experience and, in theory, a physical presence from the bench and could be seen as a bit of a mentor for Wickham. I'd rather we went for someone else but he could offer us something on a short term deal.

    Forgetting for a second the twisting our fans would do, he wouldn't actually be a bad edition to the squad.
