    Thumbs down 4-5-1

Look back at posts on here prior to the Villa game and a few were saying we should have changed back to 4-4-2 then(myself included).

The majority were, stick to 4-5-1 as it is working. Yes it was working against the big teams but you need more up front against the teams around us.

We don't score enough goals playing 4-5-1 and never will. If the midfield is not strong enough to play with only 4 then the midfield needs changing.

If we fall behind playing 4-5-1 we can't score unless we change the system. So why start with a system that needs to be changed so quickly if you concede.

We have got to start playing two out and out strikers up front.

I think it puts an end to that one.

I think it was the right formation, unfortunately the majority of our players were utter shit.

Well, you were wrong against Villa as we won so there was nothing to suggest beforehand that it wouldn't have been the same today.

For the record, I think we'll now revert back to 4-4-2, but anyone criticising Bruce for going with 4-5-1 today is wrong as it was working.

what planet have you been living on? If Heskey had his shooting boots on, they'd have stuck 5 past us, City should have stuck 3 past us. 4-5-1 has not been working. We have players to get at teams now. 13mil striker on the bench, nuff said. Shambolic.

If my aunty had a pair of bollocks she'd be my uncle. If, if, if. If we had scored 6 goals today we would have won.

Results are what counts and we got excellent results playing 4-5-1. It hasn't worked today so I think he'll change it back to 4-4-2.

Well as I said before the game, it was a win win situation for Bruce, he goes 4 4 2 we get beat he can blame the system.
He stays 4 5 1 we get beat, he can say exactly what you have.

We lost that game in the middle of the park today by not retaining possession, something that should not be an issue in a 5 man against 4 man midfield.

We gave the ball away very cheaply especially when trying to find Bent, I'm not going to blame the system, the players were shite and would've probably been whatever the formation.

yes but we were never ever ever gonna get lucky in every single game for the rest of the season were we?! Blackburn should have beaten us, City should have beaten us, Villa should have beaten us. Bent cannit play the lone striker role. What a fucking waste of a cracking team.

we could have played any formation you liked today and we would have still lost due to the fact that the players didn't show up possibly with the exception of bardo
