Thered be a struggle to get more than 30secs of youtube footage of SAFC posession in the home game against Sporting cos they wouldnt stop passing between their defenders and keeper. Younger fans wouldnt believe how cynically boring European football was in those days.
Our lot were naively waiting for their keeper to boot it upfield "English Football" style while he happily rolled it out to the full backs who waited AGES for one of our forwards to trot up from the halfway line just in time for the FB to pass it back to the keeper who picked it up and proceeded to roll it out to the other FB.
If football had been played like that from its invention it'd never have taken off.
