Default Contract rebellion at City :)

    http://www.givemefootball.com/premie...re-aguero-deal

Manchester City's deal for Sergio Aguero could spark a transfer rebellion at City, according to The Daily Mail.

Nigel De Jong, Vincent Kompany and Micah Richards are reportedly unhappy with their new deals offered to them, once they learned that Aguero had been offered a £200,000 per week as part of his five-year deal.

And City face a fight to keep the trio in the wake of Aguero's move.

A City source said: "While efforts to bring the club’s wage bill into line are commendable, it doesn’t wash with the key members of the squad being offered less than half of what some of the top earners like Yaya Toure, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero will earn."

"All the players are keen to stay and play their part in City’s success, but they don’t want to feel forgotten about."

De Jong has already expressed his frustration by the way contract negotiations have begun, having only been offered £80,000 a week.

Defender Richards, who has been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal, and Kompany, who could take over as club captain if Carlos Tevez leaves the club this summer, have both been offered deals of a similar size but are yet undecided to whether to sign or not.

Richards should take £60'ishk/w and be very happy with that. Kompany I could understand if he'd 'want' more if his team mates are paid that. He's their new captain in the making if I'm not mistaken? and had a very good 10/11.

Having only been offered £80,000 a week....The world's gone past being mad into a whole new spectrum of insane.

You see, and will continue to see players taking pay-cuts to join a club - Sessegnon did it to join us.

City's situation is completely different to any other. They have unlimited funds (to an extent) and obviously players will take advantage of that.

I remember Ashley Cole saying he was talking on the phone to Arsenal and nearly crashed, stopped his car and said he couldn't breathe.

Why? They were offering him 'only' £80k per week.

Many people say that, but I don't particularly see it that way. It's not us paying their wages (tickets are expensive of course, but not that expensive up in Sunderland anyway) and not many would say no to money they are 'entitled to', so it's not like footballers are some other spieces only into to money as opposed to the rest of us.
