Quick Rooney debate suggestion

So we have Rooney. Thrust into stupid wages at the age of 17/18 without a decent education but alas now he's worth a stupid amount of money and like most football players does what the fuck he wants.

Watching a documentary last night about American Football where quite a large proportion of the professionals were required to reach a certain standard in College/Uni to be allowed to play and earn their stupid wages. Biggest reason behind this was the risk factor of being injured, they needed a respectable qualification(s) to fall back on.

Maybe something Premiership Club youth systems should look at?

do whatever he wants? not really? hes had an affair, wonder how many people on this board who get paid a pittance have done the same. Difference is his affairs are put in the tabloids.

Bit of maturity in the young ones? Sense of discipline? Being able to be a stock broker if Barton snaps his leg? Dunno.

I don't think the college system in the States prevents it's sporting stars from getting into the sort of situation Rooney finds himself in, TBH.

I couldn't give a flying fuck about the daft twat to be honest.
or any footballer, they have it handed to them on a plate
it`s up to the individual to sort himself out.

seems ott to me. being educated wouldnt stop him shagging a prozzie and its no one elses business anyway, its between him and his wife. fuck all to do with anyone else or his job. wether they want qualifications to fall back on is entirely up to them. itd be a shame if someone like rooney with such talent couldnt be a footballer because hes shit at maths.
