Default Should We Bid For 2026?

What does it say about our chances of getting a future world cup when we lose out to Germany for 2006 (despite them having it in 1974) and then coming last this time around?

It raises a serious and non knee jerk question about whether it is worth bidding again.

As well as giving it to the more "political savvy" countriues they are also giving these tournaments to countries and regions that havent had it before almost as a regeneration project.

It also shows up a few things:

    1. We're perhaps not liked in FIFA.
    2. Our FA arent very good at "pressing the flesh", and
    3. There will be other countries, based on those who havent had it, that will get it before us.
    4. The bidding process is a complete sham.

Lets face it if Qatar can get it then this opens the doors for a lot of other countries who once thought they had no hope of winning it.

We must be way down the list now.

we aren't liked anywhere for anything. We cannit even get votes in the eurovision because of some unexplainable dislike to all things Britain and England. Not worth bidding again.

If its developing countries they want, then I fully support the joint Scotland/Wales bid.

that would be a waste of time as the world cup won't be in Europe in 2026.
2030 is the earliest, but what is the point? FIFA know we can deliver it, but they simply don't want to award it to us for wahtever reason so seems daft to go through it and spend £15m when surely it would be better off invested into grass rotts etc etc

2026 will almost certainly go to USA if they bid, with 2030 to be back in Europe.
