Just got back...
First of all what an absolute fucking shithole! shite ground, shite seats and shite area. Last time I'll go there for a meaningless league game, so to speak
As for us, decent first half, created little, almost a moment of brilliance from Sess following our one piece of good play in the entire match
Everton smacked of a team with their thoughts elsewhere, players rested, makeshift players in the side ie Neville playing at LB and McFadden starting. We set our stall out to frustrate them and play on the counter, to little avail
Once the first goal went in after the break that was the finish, you certainly had that feeling. Apart from the Sess effort we hadnt had a shot on goal and never looked like creating a thing. After that MoN rang the changes and we actually got worse if anything, became more open in the middle of the pitch and at one point could have ended up 5 or 6 tbh
It was slightly worrying that although we didnt threaten in the first half it was a game that we didnt look in great danger and were eventually beaten with ease, especially by a team who have a huge game in a few days and wernt at full strength
At least MoN will have learnt alot about the character of some players, and hopefully he addresses the weak points in the team/squad over the summer. At the end of the day this isnt his squad of players and we were living off the MoN euphoria for weeks but we have had a few wake up calls of late. And I would think he realises that
His tactics today may be questionable I have to say, Sess up top alone isnt the answer for me, we constantly played long balls and he had no chance (Fellani played in front of the back four and had the easist game of his life - again) I would be pissed off if I had been him tbh. To me it shows how little faith O'Neill must have in Wickham and Ji, because without Bendtner and Campbell neither player can still get a start. And tbf to MoN, in the time they were on today, you can see why they arent starting games if I'm honest. Ji is so far out of his depth it is funny, there could be something there with Wickham imo, but he is a long way off at this stage. He must sign a couple of strikers in the summer AT LEAST as Bendtner wont be here either and the jury is out on Fraizer for me
Also I think Bardos days are numbered, been taken off twice in a few days now and I think its only heading one way, I have to say mind Gardner was worse when he went to RB - who was appualing today btw. I think Bardo fits into the same category as Ricco imo, theyve been there too long and I think its time they were shipped out, Keanos boys along with Gordon. We have a major rebuild in the summer on our hands I reckon
Bardsley, Turner, Richardson, Gardner, Meyler, Vaughan, Sessegnon (hope not) are all potential sales imo along with the obvious departures ie Gordon, the loanees and maybe Westwood
One bright spot today - Jack Colback, excellent little player. Totally proved me wrong and I hold my hands up massively. good touch, can pick a pass and calm in possession. Also thought Mig had no chance with the goals again and felt sorry for him, we miss O'Shea massively
Onwards and Upwards anyway, move on and lets batter Wolves on Satda and look forward to the remaining games and next season
Keep the faith

I said this on here the other week and was shot down by the "Goodison is a great historic stadium, I love going" brigade.
It's a shit tip and the obstructed views a disgrace to those paying good money to Everton FC.
Saying that, the unobstructed views must have been shite today too.

I actually thought Colback was quite poor today, love him in general though.

I was shocked we went with this. When I saw it, I said the only time MoN has played this we got beat 4-0. Well that is twice now. In the West Brom game, he realised by half time and changed it. I thought we would never see it repeated. Bruce persisted with it and it lead to disaster.
You are right in what you say, for MoN to play no recognised striker in favor of Wickham or Ji, he must really not rate them at all.
Two strikers needed this summer.

Just goes to show! Just thought he was the best of a bad bunch if anything. Nobody really played well, I thought he was dead unlucky with the og, he didnt deserve that at all

Re: Just got back...
Were the surrounding streets still wall to wall dog shit? Couldn't move for the stuff when I went for the cup game.
