Adelaide bound for the Tyne
Heard a rumour today that a Tyneside shipyard have offered a birth for the City of Adelaide ship.
If this is true Sunderland city council should be ashamed of themselves for not sorting this out ages ago.

Cheers for that. Did your source mention anything about transporting the boat and aftercare, which is where the true cost is going to be?

No, just that an offer had been made and no offer has been made by Sunderland council.

Do the council own any shipyards in Sunderland?
If this is true (which I doubt) then good on the company in question. Where it is rennovated is immaterial providing it ends up in Sunderland.

Re: Adelaide bound for the Tyne
Alex Smiles offered a place for the City of Adelaide months ago, at his recycle centre next to Liebherr. Not sure if it was till it was renovated, or a permament place.

If the Adelaide does not come back to the Wear then its another missed opportunity for Wearside.

The entire South Dock is technically owned by Sunderland Council.
