It would be insane not to get MON
The guy apparently wants the job, he is highly intelligent, a motivator, jumps around a lot (which sounds like a joke but I often envied Villa seeing how excited he got..it does affect the fans), a better record than Hughes, watched us as a lad, is a big name, will create excitement amongst the fans, and hopefully will be the spark to light the tinderbox. It would make me, if appointed before Sunday and I lived back home, definitely travel to the Wolves game, and make me excited for his first home game, The fans deserve MON. Every appointment would be a risk, but MON ticks nearly every box. If we go for Hughes, then I will be very disappointed.

Whereas I would be pissed off with the lack of pride shown by appointing someone who turned us down twice.

You've already demonstrated that you know fuck all with your infamous thread about having more points than the Mags.
Your last sentence doesn't exactly make me want to change my mind.

Re: It would be insane not to get MON
i think he is first choice but we need to give him the assurances he is after to persuade him to come ( he pulled the plug on west ham and liverpool for not getting them) Hughes is on standby imo

Spot on. If its Hughes I'll be happy to back him and I think he's a good manager, but the whole club needs a lift and of the realistic options, O'Neill is the one who can provide it.

Re: It would be insane not to get MON
people seem to have been swayed against him though by the fallout with Lerner and subsequent criticisms...people point to his transfer dealings but ultimately he did very, very well with Villa (look at them now) so they have to be deemed a success, regardless of how much was spent.
He's an excellent manager and I'd love him here.
