Default What do you want from Sunderland?

Just reading about the club's finances compared to other clubs in the top third of the PL got me thinking.

What do you actually want from SAFC? Keep the prices as low as pos, and remain a second tier club, probably with further yoyoing, or make a concerted effort to become an established top 6 club and charge what it takes?

I want them and every other prem club to pay sensible wages so that they can live within
    their means.

Although i do see your point.

You know HBT, it's a difficult one for me. I was brought up on football throughout the mid 70's and through the 80's. Some real bad times in amongst that lot, yet I never considered not going, home or away. The atmosphere amongst away support was magnificent, despite knowing that you'd probably get beat. But there was a camaraderie and the players were just "one of us", but doing a job we'd all like

The football we play and the players we have is second to none in my lifetime, yet I still find going to home games, sometimes as a chore.
We are never going to be anything special, but I want people to recognise what this club has achieved pre- Sky and realise what we actually meant to football in those days. That would do for starters

Being a 2nd tier club. We are comfortable there and will be operating more within our means. It tends to mean we win more too, which makes for a much more pleasant days drinking.

Most of us will support the lads whatever league we are in.

Of course we want to be as successful as possible, but the wages we have to
pay our players to be in this league really winds me up.

I will also support SAFC regardless of what league we're in, but given the choice, I want us to be right at the top, even if it means paying more.
