Default Watched the 73 cup final last night

for the first time in a couple of years. Surprised how good Horswill was, and how ginger. He might be a thick as chips but on that showing he'd easy get into our current team now. Had five decent shots from the edge of the area too.
Billy Hughes would be playing for a top 4 team in the Champions League, as would Watson.

Horswill was brilliant that season. Pity he was always such a knacker.

Hughes was not that good when he tried to step up a notch he was found out.

    Watson was class.

Whole thing's amazing. Never tire of watching it.
Brian Moore's commentary (Hawaaar the lads )
Johan Cruyff knocking about looking very cool - presumably thinking 'one day I will be as good as Richie Pitt'
Guthrie and Malone - would have them in the team now (again on that showing, too young to have seen any more)

Can you get the semi final on DVD anywhere?

Should have been in the top division earlier!

So wierd. I've been with my lass for 16 months and she hated football at the start. She's starting to become a Sunderland fan tho, going to the games and taking an interest. Last night in bed I was telling her about the 73 cup final and showing her YouTube clips of the game. Not watched it for years either...

Horswill's contribution in that game was immense. He ran himself into the ground and was nearly spewing at the end.

For that reason I get a bit annoyed when young'uns on here who weren't even born in '73 call him worse than shite on the Legends. Ok he's not the sharpest knife in the box but he's still a legend to older true SAFC fans.
