Canny deal that like, but you'll want to get rid of the kit lens ASAP as it's garbage.

Mixed reactions to the kit lense. I asked in another thread but it was indicated that it was adequate as a step up from point n shoot.

I disagree with that - its the new IS version of the 18-55, and not bad at all for a kit lens. Streets ahead of the old one.

The only real issue I have with mine now is the lack of manual focusing (Well theoretically you can focus it, but the ring just doesn't have enough movement to be accurate) and the fact that the front element turns so its a pain with polarising lenses. Considering the kit is normally only £30-£50 above the cost of the body, its well worth it if you are starting out.

Sorry I didn't realise it was a new lens, its just I saw a comparison test between the 550D and D90 and they used the kit lens on both and the resolution advantage of the Canon seemed to be lost due to poor quality of the lens.

Just reserved this to pick up tomorrow.

Is this worth £15, even if it's just somewhere to store stuff?

I've got one of these although I paid quite a lot less than that!

Lowepro make some well thought out bags, slingshot is great cos you can swing it around and change lenses in it etc without taking it off.

I think it should have been the "new" lens if it was with the 550D.

I had the old and now have the new and am more than happy with it for the money, looking online it has some excellent reviews too. Obviously you can buy better, but I still think its a fine lens for someone starting out on a budget.

    Thanks folks.
Might just pick it up and get a better on when I get more kit.
