Our signings v's the mags

I met a customer at work today in Newcastle - mag.
We started talking about the transfer window and I was expecting him to be gutted - but it was the opposite. He asked me to name one of our signings that would get into their team - but said all of theirs would get into ours.
He honestly believes that their team is stronger now than last season (didn't rate Nolan or Barton).
He's not a daft kid mind - goes to the games and is mid-forties.

One comment made me chuckle - "Man U don't let good players go" - "apart from Obertron".

He's not actually, but I could see that it was going to get heated so backed off the footy - didn't want to lose an important customer. We shook on a tenna for top dogs and left it at that.

One comment I remember was that Sess was the only good player we had in the first half.

Newcastle bought some decent players, but should have kept their best players, and replaced Carroll

Newcastle's team is now better than ours - and that's says something since they were recently in the Championship and Ashley is cutting back

Didn't rate Carroll. And their team isn't better than ours - it's just playing better at the moment. Thing is they've peaked - Best isn't going to score 2 goals every game. They are 2 or 3 injuries away from a crisis, we aren't.
