Iphone playing music in standby?

How can this be switched off? Cannot find how to anywhere. Happens at work when phone is on silent so I dont know its happening. Even though its silent still seems to drain the battery until I see it and stop it. As I only occasionally check at work its a pain.

Grateful for any advice

Is killing the app too simplistic?

The battery is well shite anyway. You sure you don't need to turn off an app that's using GPS? That's more likely to be draining your battery.

actually that is on at the minute when its normally off so it could be that. Just assumed it was this music thing as the battery life seems worse than since it started

Yep when I notice I do go into music and pause it. The question was is there a way of stopping it from starting

I'm confused, can't you just press the pause button ?

Also if you are in the lock screen press the home button twice in quick succession, it will brig up a music player.

I had diary entry to remind me of something any time I went home. It seriously drained the battery.

Thats what could be happening, it could be getting pressed accidently in pocket. I'm not aware its playing as its on silent, I only see it when I check the time or for texts. Maybe its not actually playing as I see the music player at the top and assume it is and the battery life thing could be as Bob Fleming suggested.

Another mystery solved by the SMB
