    Default Windows Media Player Help

    Im stumped. Trying to play a DVD on my laptop and have picture but no sound at all. Using a Realtek audio sound card which I've just updated and still can't get no sound! Speakers are on, I can get game sounds and normal windows sounds and watch stuff online with sound but nowt else.


    Anyone help?

    Is the volume on Media Player turned up?

    Other than that I don't know.

    Try going to the top left hand corner (media player) right click, choose tools, then options. Go to the (file type) tag and check all the file types are checked. It may fix it.

    Could be that you need to update the codec. Google 'codec' and get a free codec download bundle which should do the trick (assuming all the above dont work)

    It plays anything if you d/l it I'd bet it will play your file with no problems

    Another vote for VLC, plays everything fine when media player is struggling.
