Default Last week....atmosphere......t he final word.

I have been to many derby matches at both grounds and I have to say that the bitterness and vile/pure hatred spouted by their fans was IMHO the worst I have ever experienced, poisonous pure poisonous! It seemed from moment one that everyone in a black n white shirt screemed and hurled abuse at every aspect of our team/supporters/manager/fans, yes I know thats what it is all about, but last week it was particularly nasty.

Whether it was the shit they took last year when they went down? whether it was the Bramble effect, whether it was Steve Bruce? maybe it was a combination of them all coming together?

One thing is for certain......it certainly had an effect on our players! it clearly worked in their favour! Even at the end their shitty announcer played that 'Monkees song' so they they could all sing along and take the pure piss out of Steve Bruce. They never play that song by the way, and it was trawled out specifically for the end of the game.

We must all come together when those bastards get to the SOL! we must all ensure that we give those twats the same treatment and dont give them the lickings of a dog!
Not sure if we are capable of doing it? another influencing factor BTW is the positioning of away fans (SEB I know on another thread) where those bastards will be sitting at the SOL will help their team, they cant fail. WE need a re-think about this problem? it may cost money to move them, but it could eventually save us points?

Lets all move on from THAT result, lets join ranks again, lets make sure that the next time THEY are affected by the atmosphere?
Rant over, keep the faith everyone, FTM

    agreed.
i hope the atmosphere is poisonous at the SoL.
lets make the last one at our place look very tame.
every away player should hate playing at Sunderland.

There's no-where in the ground we could really move them though and even if we did I can't imagine it would make any difference. The reason being, the acoustics in our ground is a lot better than Sid James, it's been built to keep the sound in. The mags have two gigantic stands, and two much smaller ones, the sound in the large stands tends to get lost.

On a side note, how many tickets did we get???

Not at all, 'fuckin class'........not, fuckin evil/bitter/poisonous? yes. We as fans need to raise or game as far as atmosphere is concerned IMHO. Try doing what Stoke do......amplify the background noise?
Certainly the positioning of away fans is something (ok a problematic one) that we should think about? Surely Niall will have picked up on that last week?

Why should we keep the faith? they were crap. You come across as a bit stupid in my opinion. It appears that you will gladly lap up all the propoganda let out by Steve and the club. Sometimes Bob you need to rely on your own eyes and from what I can see, SAFC is stagnating under this mans management. He was meant to be a world class appointment yer knar.

IF we ever do extend the stadium, then consider it.

The positioning of fans is a bonus but a very poor excuse. If we have 46/47k fans it really shouldn't be an issue if we get behind the side which is what we do. The last home game against the mags was electric. You got a short memory hat? And the majority of away fans don't get the lickings of a dog as they're right next to the SWC.
