    Default Wickham... any good?

Just how good is he? I have never seen him play, but I know we tried to buy him last year, and obviously he is very highly rated.

But is he the real deal? How does he compare to Carrol for example at the same age? (I'm assuming they play a similar role) How does he compare to Kevin Kyle? I've watched a few youtube vids and he looks ok, but not 10m+ worth. So why all the hype? what am I missing?

Admittedly i have not seen a great deal but i think he is massively over rated and think the main reason he does so well at youth level is his size and strength . He hasn't exactly set the championship alight and 10 million is a huge gamble .

The one game I seen him for 90 minutes, he ran Arsenal ragged and got MoM.

I don't think he's overrated at all, I'd love to see him here.

We can't afford to spend £10mil on an 18 year old

'Gareth Bale' good for his age tbh.

I'd be a lot more excited about signing him for 10 million than them 3 from Utd for 12 million.

Could be anything tbh and i think it's a calculated gamble by the club attempting to buy him before the U21 tournament kicks off......if he does really well there he may have more options than SAFC. On the other hand if we sign him and he gets completely outshone by Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge (as he may well do) we have a £10m prize turkey on our hands. Decisions, decisions eh.

Is there anyone after him? He'd be a great buy.
