Default So how does it look in retrospect?

Ok, I will confess first of all that I am a passionate SAFC fan and have been for 60 years. Any interest that I have ever had in England has been destroyed by their refusal to play home games anywhere but London (sod the fans in England) unless of course they had to when Wembley was being rebuilt - because they they never wanted to take the English team into England.

At that point they came out with a massive load of bollocks about how wonderful it was to take the team to the fans. What crap - now that the overpriced, wrongly positioned, badly designed (the pitch?) stadium is complete they have resumed their normal contempt for anybody who lives outside London with their ongoing agreement to play all of their games in London.

A position nicely mirrored by the so called footballers who "represented" our country in South Africa. All they were interested in from their self-delusional, self-interested position was the further promotion of their personal agendas. How will their earning potential be improved by a good display is SA. Clearly they were miles away from being able to deliver one without help from their foreign club teammates.

So lets get real. The only team they beat was Slovenia. Hardly world beaters. They were beaten (sorry, hammered) tonight by a German team that was slightly above average and will not win the WC. Easily.

World class players? Hardly. For all of the games they have played, including the Slovenia game they demonstrated their inadequacy repeatedly. I could pick out individual players, but why bother - they were all crap, no surprise.

    Defence? Absent
    Midfield? Invisible
    Forwards? What forwards?

Of course some of them are ok/good with their clubs. Supported by foreign players.

Capello said that he would pick on experience and form. Well the core of the players he picked have an experience of the same self delusional experience of failure. There are good players in the Premiership and Championship, better on the day that the arrogant arseholes he picked.

These arrogant twats deserved exactly what they got. Nothing.

    But we deserved more.

    Rant over

People will support England again and again just for a piss-up despite the F.A/manager selections pissing on smaller clubs' fans.
