The Thing Is
We are still making the occasional individual error i.e. misplaced passes when not under pressure and weak hold up play mainly from Bendtner, but by fuck we don't half work hard to get the ball back when this happens. Not a single head going down nor any blame when somebody fucks up.
There's a pack mentality about us and it must be a bastard for the oppo. They'll know that technically we aren't better and may even be weaker, but we play in a way that must be so irritating in its effectiveness. Pushing and pulling and kicking at heels while right up the back of players.
The thing is, it doesn't take a war chest to achieve this and that is what I'm so excited about. MoN has done what every manager probably demands, but few are getting out of their teams and that's maximum effort and determination. When we counter attack, you'd think we were one nil down in the final 5 minutes of a cup final, the pace and air of desperation is so intense.
The main difference is though, on Sunday I frightened the crap out of my two year old grandaughter when I screamed at our unexpected winner and she ended up scared with her lip gannin. Last night the same thing seemed like happening when Sess scored and I went mental (I was out of the room for the other goals), only this time she settled her trembling lip, started grinning and then the miracle happened........she started pumping her arm , mimicking Sess and was grinning from ear to ear shouting Hawee Sunlund!
I love Football at times like these. I know as well as many other older posters that two swallows don't make a summer, but this is positively Stokoe esk and seems to have a massive momentum behind it. What a manager MoN is.
