    Default Benjani

    Can we cancel his loan?

I presume that we are probably paying at least some of his wages and to be honest I cant really see the point of him now.

He isn't a long term solution and I'd much rather see Bent, Jones, Campbell and preferably Noble or similar get a chance for their development in the long run.

Seems a reasonable idea at the time getting him in as were in a relegation battle and as Campbell hadn't had a great impact we needed back up for Bent and Jones.

Now we are as good as safe would much rather see the youngsters given a chance and we are as good as pissing money down the drain on him

Noble is at Watford on loan, so sending him back would leave us with 3 strikers.

    Aye,great idea.
When you looked in your crystal ball did you see Bent and Jones weren't going to pick up a knock or be suspended for the next 5 games and leave Campbell as a lone striker.

We'd probably have to cancel Noble's place as an unused sub at Watford as well. I suspect that we can't cancel his loan, to be honest but I suspect he's only getting on to the pitch in the event of injury.

Benjani was a cheap insurance. No loan fee and we aren't paying his wages, just a "fee" to City if he plays. He'll not be signing.

Both being out seems pretty unlikely but worse case play him as a lone striker yes or just play one of the other youngsters alongside him

We are safe, a couple of extra places may make a slight difference in terms of prize money but will have no other impact. So would much rather see us give someone young here a chance to see how they can do in preparation for the future.

I would be gutted if we spent anything on Benjani at his age in the summer.

Agreed....insurance policy. Will probably never make another appearance for the lads.

This'd be the out of contract, free agent Benjani? I don't want to sign him but there's no danger of a fee.
