Default Vacant house - turning gas supply off

Hello I'd be grateful for some help regarding the gas supply into a house that I'm renting out.

The tenant doesn't move in until 27th May and the insurers want me to turn off the mains gas and water supply.

I think I just need to turn off the combi boiler and then pull down a lever in the internal gas cabinet?

But I've heard that you need a Gas Safe fitter to switch it back on? Is this necessary if the supply is uninterrupted?

just leave it be, whos gona know and its hardly winter, if you want to just close the lever on the mains, however these never hardly get moved and disturbing them sometimes causes leaks. the decision is yours.

Ta lads, I was going to leave everything alone.

I visit the house at least once or twice a week to do more cleaning and to pack stuff up.

The boiler has been left on to kick in at 10C.

I guess if something did go wrong that I could find the gas lever in the rubble and set it to off before the insurers turn up.

Surely if it's safe to be on when people are living there it's safe to be on when the house is empty...
