I dont want any comments about iphones etc

but

the battery life on this phone is shocking. fully charged over night and its just died.

How does one go about rolling back the firmware as i have a feeling this was the cause why its so bad now.

Is the GalaxyS the old one?

If so, get a custom ROM on it. Something like CM7 (or maybe even CM9 if its out yet).


I did this on my desire, and went from 1-2 days to 3-4 days between charges (unless I play tower defense games in bed every night for about an hour! hehehe)

Is it the S2?

Turn off your background data (settings > accounts and sync)
Turn off Use Wireless networks and GPS (settings > Location and security)
Turn off your mobile data unless you're using it (settings > wireless and network)
Turn off Wi-fi unless you're using it (settings > Wireless and network)

Doing this will save your battery big time.

As PTR says, get CM7 on it, loads of tutorials on it on the net. Mine lasts well over a day and a half now, but charge it every night anyway.
