I find myself nodding and agreeing with a lot of what he says.

He's one of the fwe 'old boys' who's not a knob imho.

Much prefer him on MOTD than scarface or weetabix

Agree. I've more time for him than most stuck in front of microphone.

He was treated poorly by Boro - undermining his responsibility in the transfer market and in the timing of his sacking.

I think most boro supporters were gutted...didnt he have them in 3rd at the time...bit of a dour bastard but speaks sense and his players seemed to play for him...Honest bloke and decent footballing brain.

    Yes.

Had the pleasure of meeting him at londons kings cross when they were waiting for a train. I dont normally get star struck, but he has this aura around him, this kind of glow that is only reserved for greatness. he was a great guy to converse too.

    A very good pundit imho.
Don't always agree with him but at least he explains his thinking and you can see where he's coming from.

Him and Keane make a good team on ITV. They just need to get rid of the human potato Adrian Chiles.

I think he was sacked by Boro cos attendances were falling to around 19000!

How they'd love those gates now

i never understood the sacking at the time. think they were 3rd and only 3 points off top but didnt gibson say they were lucky to be in that position as they had fluked a few wins at home, or something along those lines. the chairman backed him despite relegation and then sacked him when they were mounting a promotion challenge.

i honestly think that if he was left in charge he was capable of getting them promoted within 2 seasons. all water under the bridge now but was harshly treated imo.

Unfortunately Southgate is part of the F.A. establishment and part of the machine thats to blame for us not winning anything at national level.

Others include the whole F.A. committee, and the likes of Brooking and Clemance.

Brooking was in charge of sport England and football grass roots over the last twenty years. Nowt happend. He was quietly moved from Sport England

How Clemance has kept his job after the debacle over English goalkeepers in the last couple of tournaments is beyond me.

Oh! I know, its jobs for the boys.

    Southgate. another F.A. yes man
