Wanting to have a mess about with this, anyone done it before?
I wanted to do a black and white shot and maybe leave eyes in color.

If you have photoshop the way to do it would be to

    1. open the image
    2. add a gradient map (black to white) adjustment layer - this converts it to black and white (if it looks inverted reverse the gradient)
    3. use the brush tool, with white as the foreground colour and paint over the areas you wish to restore colour to.

    That should do it.

Cheers, was hoping to stay away from photoshop for a while to be honest, still messing about with this lightroom craic.

Here's a tutorial showing how to do it in Lightroom.

Easy to do in Picnic - just set the image to black and white, then paint the colour bits back in. It can look great, but can often look a bit naff too.

It needs to be done sparingly imo.

    I took this

in Amsterdam - it was a so-so shot that I tried to save with selective colour. Think it looks a little bit naff.

I'm a bit happier with the selective colour here, a bit more subtle.
