Exclamation Realistic Transfer Targets For The Summer

Providing we stay up of course, which I think we will.

Alan Hutton - He's a level ahead of Onouha and Bardsley as a RB IMO. He'd offer us far more of an attacking threat down that right hand side. He did well here before, would have a chance to move closer to home and also play week in, week out which isn't going to happen at Spurs now they've got Kyle Walker to compete with Corkula for that RB spot.

Charles N'Zogbia - The one we've been after for ages. He's versatile (can play just as well on either wing as well as at LB if we're hit with injuries), creates lots and also scores goals from midfield which we've been really missing. A real flair player who'd get the crowd off there feet and has an end product to match. Has two good mates at the club, has worked with Bruce before, and we'd get him for a decent price even if Wigan don't go down as he'd only have one more year left on his contract.

Kevin Doyle - He'd be a cracking signing IMO. A big, strong striker is what we've been crying out for (some will say we need a poacher, but Quinn and Bruce have said a big man is what we're after). He creates acres of space and isn't shy when it comes to graft either. Would be available for about £5m (if Wolves go down) and even if they stay up he wouldn't break the bank which would leave a nice bit of cash to strengthen other areas.

Seb Larsson - Available on a free. He'd offer good balance on the wing, can deliver a cracking ball into the box and he's deadly from set pieces. He'd be a good addition to our squad.

Dickson Etuhu - Might not be a popular choice on here but I don't think he should ever have been sold. We need an imposing, disciplined player who'll sit in front of the back 4 in the ''Makelele'' role. Perhaps he wouldn't come back up here, but he'd be available for a decent fee and would be a very good addition to our midfield. Definitely worth a try IMO.

I've tried to as realistic as possible and all five of those players would probably cost around the same amount (possibly a small bit more) in total as the reported £24m we'll receive for Bent so as far as our budget is concerned that should be realistic.

I'd be very happy if that was our summer transfer business.

Who would you go for, and why?

too many needed for one transfer window sadly, if all loan players go back we'll need about half a dozen

    Etuhu???

    BTW...Kevin Doyle isn't very big.

I'd be chuffed with Hutton and N'Zogbia. The rest no. Larrson at a push.

We stay up and N'Zogbia will be the main target. Lack of width has become a particular problem again in recent months.

after Bruce gets us relegated we will be left with Mignolet so we will need another 10 plus

I'd rather sign Larrson than Elmo and I'm not his biggest fan.

You want to put money on that happening.
You seem sure, why not remortgage your house.

As has already been said, Doyle is not a 'big, strong striker'. He relies a great deal on making runs and movement, he's certainly not the sort of physical striker to lead the line that you seem to think he is.

He isn't big but he is a very strong lad and one of the best at holding it up and protecting in in the whole division imo.

That Adam Le Fondre at Rotherham looks a good shout to shoot us back to the Premier League like.
