    I walked from Tiffanys to Peterlee twice drunk as a monkey, it takes about 3 hours along the coast road

    Newcastle. Took between 2-3 hours. All because I got kicked off a bus and was too tight to pay for a taxi by myself.

    Malbrough to Tidworth, 16 miles, ran half of it back in 1985, got back to barracks in 2 hours.

    I used to spend all my money on drink, anyway taxi were really expensive back in the day, walking was common
