Hoo Techies - Thunderbolt

I bought an iMac a couple of weeks ago, its has a couple of Thunderbolt ports. What the fuck is Thunderbolt and what can the ports be used for?

I hope it does, actually. Six great things about it:

1) fast

2) does video (the excellent DisplayPort) as well as general peripherals

3) fast

4) it does PCIe over a cable, so you can virtually put anything on the end of it. An external video card for your laptop for example, or a standard docking station that works on all laptops, connects with one cable and has all the gubins a big PC has (fast video, big hard drives, multiple monitor connections, LAN, etc)

5) stick one on a phone, and you can turn your phone into a proper computer via the same docking station

6) fast

Nice work by Intel. When the optical version arrives (LightSpeed) it'll be mental fast.
