    Default Vote Labour

Because they represent the working class

Inequality in income has reached the highest level since records began in 1961.

Inequality in Britain is among the worst in the developed world, with the highest rate of poverty in western Europe.

Working-class children will generally do significantly less well at school, earn less at work and die younger than those from richer homes.

On average, children born in the poorest areas will die 13 years before those in the richest.

Five-year-olds from well-off homes have a vocabulary that is almost twice as wide as those from the poorest homes and are 30 per cent less likely to have problem behaviour.

The richest 10 per cent of families have assets worth an average £853,000 - almost 100 times the £8,800 average wealth of the poorest 10 per cent.

Because of their prudent management of the economy

UK public sector net debt in Feb 2010 was £848.5 billion. (or 59.9% of National GDP)

Excluding Financial sector intervention, public sector debt is £743 billion or (52.7% per cent of GDP)

The PBR (annual government borrowing) forecast for 2009/10 is for net borrowing of £178 billion or 12.6% of GDP.

Between 1997 and 2007 the amount raised by income tax increased by 80 per cent, average council tax payments have risen by 100 per cent, and inheritance tax receipts have increased by 137 per cent.

Between 1999 and 2002, Mr Brown ordered the sale of almost 400 tons of the gold reserves when the price was at a 20-year low. Since then, the price has more than quadrupled, meaning the decision cost taxpayers an estimated £7 billion

Because they're tough on crime. Tough on the causes of crime.

violent crime rose from 618,417 offences in 1998 to 887,942 in 2009

Over a million violent crimes committed by strangers in 2008/9.

They counted for 50% of all violence last year, up from 32% in 1996.

The proportion of violent crimes committed in the street has risen from 20% in 1996 to 34% in 2008/9.

Labour has created 4,300 new crimes since taking power.

Gordon Brown's Government creating new offences at the rate of 33 a month.

Under Tony Blair, Labour invented 27 new ways of criminalising the public every month.

Because they invest in the NHS

NHS spending was £95billion in 2008, an increase in real terms of 87 per cent since 1997.

Labour has spent £269 billion more on health than if they had kept funding at 1997 levels.

Of 1.3 million staff only 680,00 are medical professionals (2007)

GP salaries increased by 58% from 2003 to 2008

    Source: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/20....gp.health.nhs

    NHS productivity dropped by 10%

NHS output in terms of operations, consultations, drugs and fewer deaths has risen by half between 1995 and 2006 but the annual budget over the same period more than doubled from £39 billion to £89.7 billion.

This means productivity fell by an average of one per cent a year.

The steepest drops occurred between 2001 and 2005 when productivity fell by two per cent a year, corresponding with the largest increases in funding under Labour

And because they've done so well for Sunderland

    No need...
