    Default Tom Hicks interview

I think he has just came across very well in the sky sports news interview and he highlights just how this episode has been portrayed from one side. The main point been that they put up nearly 300 million for Benitez that he spent on garbage. More than any other club with the exception of Man city and Chelsea perhaps who have improved massively while Liverpool have floundered. The interview just highlights Liverpool fans involved with the "spirit of shankley" as looking for a scapegoat when infact little of it at all has to do with the owners, more the players and management. Not to mention the anti-american slant on the protest that has left them all with egg on their faces.

But surely they were in charge whilst he was doing that. Can you imagine Ellis Short allowing that to happen?

The guy is a beetling twat.

    Same here mate

Benitez has to be blamed aswell, but the debt owed to RBS was surely Hicks fault, 30 million a year to service the debt.

Any money they put into the club was taken out on loans against the club which they said they would never do. Transfer dealings with them in charge seen us basically brake even. They have taken millions from the club for expenses! Don't be fooled by his lies. Research the subject properly and then come to your own conclusions.

They were in charge of financing the club for transfers and wages which they did do. I think Hicks and Gillette did the right thing by allowing the manager to pick which players and showed confidence in his judgement. Obviously there comes a time in any owners mind when their belief in someone dwindles becuase of a lack of results and that's why they sacked him.

The media over here are dismissing the lawsuit for 1 billion but ferk me if there is one country in the world where you could pull that off it's the USA.

    Thems the facts, really.
The Yanks tried their best to build LFC up by giving Rafa many millions to spend. IMO it was him that fucked up primarily, not the Yanks.
But, then again, the Yanks were novices and wanted to turn a profit at the end of the day.
Give me Ellis Short and Niall Quinn as a proper performance model. Those two blokes are a great combo and know exactly what they are doing.
PL Virgins get burnt. End of. Cue Gold and Sullivan (hopefully)

Not as much as it seems on an income of £300m.

And if the figures here are remotely accurate, £300m is a very cheap price to pay for the club.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbes'...e_note-value-2

I can understand why Gillett and Hicks are a bit pissed off at the club being sold for such a low price, but then I also can't work out why they couldn't keep up the payments on the loan they took out with RBS.
