Buying our first house!
Mrs Tatty and myself have just had an offer accepted on a house! I posted on here a couple of weeks ago - we'd offered on another house but that didn't work out for us. Anyway, we kept looking and found another one we loved. It had been on at £90k, reduced to £80k, and then reduced again to £74,950 (the guy who lives there is on his own and is in poor health - the house is too big for him and he has an apartment lined up and just wants out). There had been quite a bit of interest since it went down to £74,950 so we offered the asking price, knowing he wanted a quick sale. It's still a bargain as it's initial valuation was £90k. 3 bed terraced, he'd had a new roof put on less than 2 years ago, too. Nice sized rooms, neutrally decorated, back yard, garage, and a 5-10minute walk to work for me (currently a 50 minute bus ride).
Well excited

For the first 24 months we're paying £334 a month (we were paying £450 when renting). After that initial period, our repayments go down
