Default Ex-offenders selling things door to door

Anyone else get these? I seem to get them round every few months, doing some sort of early-release work placement thing. Always seem to be bussed up from Smogland and dumped in sunny Sunderland, and they always manage to flog me some random household cleaning crap out of some sense of noblesse oblige on my part.

Part of me wonders if it's some sort of scam, but that may just because the last lad had a clear fake sales-patter...

We had them round in North Yorks a few months ago, and I notice there are 'this is a non-cold calling area' signs on the lampposts now

Basically we seem to have collectively told them to fuck off

Felt sorry for the one I saw tbh, but still slammed the door in his face

I feel kind of sorry for them. You get a lot of young people with a criminal record who are genuinely remorseful and would like to turn their life around after doing something silly when they were young but essentially are fucked getting a proper job, especially in the current climate.

We really don't do anything to help people genuinely back in to society.

Janiep as a solicitor will now tell me I am wrong

Had them round in crook a while back.

I interrupted the lad and said "Not interested mate" then shut the door. Two minutes later another knocked on me door and started shouting that I hadn't given his mate a chance & "You could have at least heard the fucker out!". Needless to say the Police were called. Cops told me they had had quite a few calls that night about them. They were moved on and have never been back.

Nottingham Knockers. It's a very well known scam. However, imo, they're not robbing you, just charging stupid amounts for tat and going for the sympathy vote.
