    Default Cost of moving a window

    We've just had a rough cost from a builder to do the following;

    Remove a window and brick it up. Create a new hole for a window on another wall, then supply and fit a new kitchen window and door.

    around £2k

    does that sound about right?

    Seems a decent price to me like. The new door & window will cost the best park of a grand. New lintel for the new opening about £150-200 and then the cavity closers, insulation, new brickwork etc.

    Can't you just persuade the family with the teenage daughter to change bedrooms?

    Stick 4 iPads together and hang them up, then by the "Naughty Neighbours" app I'm now furiously writing.

    EDIT: cancel that, cheaper to move house.

    So its 2 separate jobs?

    1 is to brick up an existing window and then put another window in somewhere else.

    What size is the window?
    Will the new window be the same size, in fact, do you need to buy a new window, or can you re-use the one you have?

    The 2nd job sounds like one of those PVC panels with a door and a window as one unit. Is this right?

    By next summer, they'd moved out and 3 teenage lads had moved it - gutted
