Default England to travel to Dublin?

Apparently the FAI want a friendly with England before the Euros. Personally I hope it comes off as it will provide both teams with a competitive friendly before a major tournament

I'm a big England fan, but I could easily see some absolutely morons attending and making the ordinary Three Lions supporter look bad so I don't want this to happen.

Plus, Ireland are greater than the sum of their parts and the thought of getting beat with a team containing Sean St Ledger and Keith Andrews is facepalmtacular.

Exactly why I'm against it. The England fans reputation has been vastly improved in recent times (very little bother of any note for ages) but this "friendly" might just encourage arseholes (on both sides) to attend and, especially just before a major championship, its something we could do without. Not sure what the players would gain from it anyway, most of the Irish lads play in England anyway so we're well used to them, we'd gain more from playing someone else imo

Both sides would be better off testing themselves against other teams, I agree. Ireland are like a poor man's England in many respects. Might as well play England v England B as go over to Ireland.

Seems like the FAI are just trying desperately to fill the Aviva, they can't usually do it.

According to sources over here it is nailed on as long as we don't draw each other in the group stages of the Euros.

It is suppose to be happening next February and the match will be played in Dublin.

Lets hope everyone will be on their best behavior this time
