Apple-World's Biggest Company
By market capitalisation. What ever you think of them, they are certainly doing something right. Business books the world over will be using them as case studies.

They've got some geniuses working in their marketing department.

1 - they never really did
2 - that isn't the case anymore
overall though, you can't fault Apple as a business.
You can fault the products, and the cultishness (!!) of the people who buy them - but the company itself is being ran brilliantly.

Apple do have more cash in the bank than the US government.

And again, it was nothing more than a sensationalised headline - it was, of course, totally meaningless.

They've borrowed a fuck load more money now. Went through a few days ago IIRC.
But as I'm sure you realise, the number in the "current" account doesn't mean jack shit. Its Wealth/Worth that actually matters - not cashflow.
TBH, the fact that Apple are sitting on that much cash could we be seen as a very poor plan from a shareholder's point of view.

I agree with you to an extent, share holders have not had a pay out for fuck knows how many years, but then on the order hand it certainly does make Apple way more powerful.
