    Default England should sue FIFA

    First of all I would like to say congratulations to both Russia and Qatar it is called the "World" cup after all. When you consider Russia and Qatar's teams have been going for 60-100 years vs 20-25 years for American and Australian teams. So it's not as though they haven't waited long enough. That said every one including old Sepp said "you could hold a world cup in England tomorrow" and "they have the best technical bid" and "the least high risk". We spent £15m proving this to them to get the world cup. However the information that was gathered at the cost to the FA and the government was then disregarded. So really the whole bid book thing was a bunch of crap. If I was running the FA I would be suing FIFA for the cost of applying for the world cup as they had us forking out cash proving things that are not nessercery in order to successfully bid for the world cup. Apparently all you need to do is apply and be as corrupt as FIFA.

    I was thinking some similar eariler, its absolutely clear now that we had no chance.

    We had the best bid
    We would have made FIFA the most money
    We were the bid with the lowest risk

    So to not choose us demonstrates that everything we did was futile, and so FIFA had blatently lead us on. We should look to get our outlay back.

    I would write our 2030 bid on the back of a single peice of paper (the certificate they awarded us today for losing would do).

    In hand written scrawl I would put something along the lines of;

    'We have some good grounds and we can organise it. Take a look at our 2018 application for further details, it still applies'

    I would scan it and send it by e-mail then forget about it. No high profile ambassadors or fancy videos, or huge expensive dossiers. No body lobbying or turning up at their beck and call to pre-submissions and further submissions. If they ask to come to visit, I would send them some bus timetables and a UK road atlas.

    They would have no choice but to praise our submission as it would be the same one they praised last time. It'll cost us next to nowt and they can then vote for Outer Mongolia like they were going to anyway.

    Everyone's a winner.

    I have no problem with Russia getting it. They are a proud country and they have never had it before. Its this ridiculous over bloated bidding procedure which seems designed to give the executive committee their place in the limelight, that I object to.

    Surely they could just ask for letters of interest from bidding countries, ask them to put some proposals together and then decide who they wanted to give it to.

    It seems to me that FIFA and Blatter in particular, are obsessed with taking the world cup to far flung places, so why any of the established nations even bother bidding is beyond me.

    Ultimately this could be Blatters legacy, a tournament none of the greatest footballing nations bother to bid for.
