Swedish tellie did a piece on it. I think it was something like 11 out of 13 missed

when they did it. That's just shocking. It's a dead ball from 11 m's and we're talking extremely well paid pro's ...
They went on to say that when gk'ers comes up to strike a pen themselves they often just hit it full power, like they know better than outfield players - that those penalties is much harder to save; they very often score. If you hit it full power you pretty much must hit the gk as he won't have much of a chance to react.
Instead...
... pen takers very often try to place it with accuracy and fail miserably as the ball hardly reaches the goal and the keeper very often saves it just by going the right way.
