What's the best PS3 game to buy first?

I've just ordered a new phone with free PS3, and I know fuck all about them.

Play my PS2 every night (currently PES09) and I still have 3 or 4 PS2 games I haven't even started. I tend to play one game till it's complete before I start another.

So while i'm finishing off the PS2 games (and waiting for FFXIII), what's the single most essential game to purchase? COD

I'm liking the idea of playing online, but seeing as my PS shares the front room with the main telly (on a secondary telly like

), I can't be doing with all this headset shite I've tried on the Xbox. Headphones only - i've no desire to talk to small boys, thanks.

Wait for Fifa 10, get that. I think you'll find that if your gaming on a night with a headset on you'll be surprised at the amount of 'older' folk who are gamers lad so no need to speak to little boys

I was thinkin of summat a bit more exciting than another footy game. I don't see what all the fuss is about really - PES09 seems little different to the last one I had, PES2. Maybe a FPS? CoD?
