Anyone seen the thing about Tommy Smith selling off all his medals. He says he doesn't need the money and it's for his family but how can any club especially one that goes on about it's heritage allow something like this to happen.

They could always print a T-Shirt "We support racists but not great club servants."

Didn't he get done for benefit fraud a few year back? Was claiming some sickness benefit but was then filmed at Wembley before a cup final doing some keepie up competition on the pitch

if i was his family i would want him to keep the medals, if hes alright for money.

i guess the economic downturn is even affecting burglars and looters

I wouldn't be surprised if LFC did support Smith after all he did say "I'm not prejudiced but if a coon moved in next door, I'd move, like most white people would. If my daughter came home with a n*, I'd go mad. But I'm only being truthful and normal."

I think alot of people said a few things back in 1989 that they wouldn't say now, shows how far we've come in over 20 years. If he said it more recently or still holds the same views then it would be a much bigger issue

It was still shocking to say those remarks back in 1989 when I was in my late teens, and Smith would have known that back then.

If I recall he took a pre match penalty for charity or something at Anfield while he was invalidity benefit. Someone blew him in. Dont know whether to laugh or be disgusted !

You would think the club would buy them and at least put them on display for fans to see.
