Michael Chopra
He really is absolutely shite like. A mediocre Championship player at best.
To think, many folk on here used to wank themselves silly over him anarl.

Re: Michael Chopra
Never mind his ability. See his stamping and tackling there?

scored a few important goals to keep us in the division, we are now in a position to afford better quality and have done

Fair play, but doesn't detract from the fact he's absolutely hopeless.
Remember in the last couple of months of Keane's reign, he'd sent Chopra out on loan and this place was foaming, demanding he bring him back, to play ahead of the likes of Cisse and Jones

True and played out of position for a large amount of time but that won't stop people slating him for being shite for us. I don't think he's very good mind, we could get better like you said.

Re: Michael Chopra
I know not many will agree with this but I think he could still score 10-12 in the Premier League, playing for a lower side obviously. Ok thats not a great amount but its respectable. I'm not watching the game at the moment so cant comment on what's just happened

He also played in proper position for a larger amount of time, and provided absolutely no threat whatsoever. Brought absolutely nothing in terms of all-round play, or ability, and couldn't create. Which meant we had to rely on his goalscoring ability - of which his is extremely limited.

I remember the run we were in, we beat the mags then lost 5 out of 6 (or summat like it), and in every Matchday Meldrew of that run, Whed would demand Chopra be brought back (we were playing Cisse and Jones up front), and half the stupid bastards on here would furiously agree.

I'd love to know the stats for that. Very limited service, same for KJ in a poor side. 7v6 in KJ favour. Did his job.

That doesn't tell a lot of the story though, just looking at goals. Jones contribution, that first season up, was massive. He was an unbelievable all-round player for us, and all our play went through him.
Chopra just ran around a lot, doing nothing. He nicked a couple of goals, but then again so did Paul Stewart.
As for 'the wing' claim, he had a run of about 10-15 games at the start of the season, where he started up front alongside Jones every week, and he looked pathetic.
