Default Is this the Jimmy Greaves moment?

Ramsey was big enough to leave him out half way through the 66 tournament (ok - he was injured first, but didn't bring him back afterwards), so is Fabio big enough to drop Rooney now?

Mind you, Shaw observed 'we learn from history that we learn nothing from history'

Difference in 66 was we had world class players in Banks, Moore, Charlton and the rest were very good. We have no world class players and most of them are average at best.

There are others that would get the hook before Rooney

Problem is there is absolutely no attacking alternative in the squad

SHAUN SHITE PHILLIPS for fucks-sake -- WHY !!!!!!!!!!!!

Adam Johnson, although untried, has the ability to do something that little bit different

MICHAEL FUCKING CARRICK - WHY !!!!!!!!

About as mobile as Lampard / Barry / Gerrard -- offers absolutely fucking nothing to the squad. We are absolutely crying out for a bit of mobility in midfield but the alternatives to Fat Frank and co are even fucking slower .... Scott Parker / Cattermole type player would not go amiss

EMILY C*NTING FUCK HESKEY -- absolute shower of shite

The stupid Italian wanker left the only credible replacement for Rooney at home.

Aye...Capello's fucking brilliant. He's botched the whole thing.

I would agree that the replacements are not greatly charismatic? Who is to be our Geoff Hurst - Defoe or Crouch?

If we drop Rooney we lose ALL of our goal threat though, and even Rooney hasnt had much of that.

If only there was an England player who had scored 25 goals this season to take his place...

3 Players are the reason why the team struggles, Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney should be dropped and actually someone that has hunger be brought in.

    451ish formation is whats required.
One team for the "big boy opposition" and another for the ones who think spending 90 minutes on the same patch of grass as Steven (arrogant english bastard) Gerrard is "their World Cup Final".

    VERSUS THE BIG BOY XI's.
    Hart
    Johnson Upson Terry Cole
    Barry
    Milner Gerrard Lampard Cole
    Rooney

    VERSUS THE LESSER XI's
    Hart
    Johnson Upson Terry Cole
    Barry
    Lennon Gerrard Lampard SWP.
    Rooney

So Englands best chance of getting as far as possible rests entirely on Wayne Rooney finding his form and some people want him dropped ?
