    In parts aye. I married a lass from there and moved there years ago, when it was still a cat D area, and very much a pit village ( except the pit was gone). Its improved loads since then, and there's some really nice houses built around the village. Good people.

    Which parts are dodgy and a "Cat D area " ?

    depends which bit mate
    its a typical " just outside of durham " village, has some really nice parts and some bits probably best avoiding
    im looking for a house just now and itf it wasnt the fact that esh winning is about a mile outside the centre further than i would like - id consider it

    Acton Road is top notch Marra, lived at the top of Brandon Road ( about 50 yards away) and it's one of the best bits. Looks over the forestry on one side, the cricket club is on the doorstep, and its well away from the main road. Nice place to live.

    the brandon one was snapped up!
    looking back im glad mate, i had my heart set on it but it was TINY
    looking at one in ushaw moor, been to view it, fucking beautifully done out but the tiling on the roof is a bit pap, so trying to decide on an offer and whatnot

    ah the ones near the cricket cluib are sound
    i got nutte dnear there like but that was a while ago :D

    Nice house that one, backs onto the line so would check the fenceing a the bottom of the garden is fine. Apart from that you are well way from any dodgy areas there.
