Avoid the M62 most of it is roadworks and average 50 mph speed cameras. I hate that road and spend too much time on it. Would recommend going A66 thru Kirby Stephen to M6 then down. Apart from a bit fog early morning you should be Ok on this route.

autoroute shows m62 quicker by about 20 mins than going thru Kirby S but a few miles longer.

As said above tho more chance of hold ups on 62 and not as bonny a route or easy stop off

Forget what autoroute might say did m62 twice in last ten days and a66 once and a66 was about 10 mins quicker. These were done on week days. Hope this helps

This. Went to Chester a few weeks back and went on the A66, and came back on the M62 and it took less time to get there (despite missing the turn off at Brough ) because of all of the fucking average speed checks on the M62.
