    Default Cricket fans/Football fans

Yesterday at the cricket rival fans sat together, had a drink, shared food, took the piss out of each other and had a really good day out together.

Nobody got upset and nobody looked like they wanted to fight anybody

This was continued afterwards in the bars in CLS

It is never going to happen, but wouldn't football be so much better if it was like that? Or, are we preconditioned to snarl and threaten opposition fans?

It is particularly strange as I would imagine that a high percentage who were their yesterday would go to football as well

    same with rugby
i took a workmate to twicks a couple of years back to watch england v ireland
on finding himself surrounded by green shirts he turned to me in panic and said "are we in the away end?"
after much laughter i explained it wasn't like a football match

Because the moronic fans from both clubs don't like cricket?

I prefer to have segregation in football as it makes a better atmosphere.

3,000 away fans together in the away will make a better atmosphere than 3,000 away fans mixed in different stands

Does it really though? Look at how sterile most football stadia are now in terms of atmosphere and then compare that to the noise of a cricket match between England and India or even a rugby game involving England and any one of the other home nations.

Maybe it's because the number 1 team on the day is the England cricket XI and the football rivalry is second.

That's because the plebs don't go to cricket. Long let it stay that way.
