    Default Haway the lads chant

You know the proper one that rarely takes off any more, why not slow it right down like Spurs did with 'marching in'?
Haaaaawwaaaaaaaaay the laaaaads etc, used to be a lot slower than the swc steam through it now anyway

That one used to sound quality with the 3 claps after Haway the lads at Roker.

totally agree with you...have to give it a go. Mind theres no sound like it. The Arsenal in 73 at hillsborough midway through the second half. The Lads on that day were just begining to flag a little when ALL of Sunderland started with "Ha'way the Lads" with one voice, which is similar to what you are talking about... It was a huge lift at a point in the match where it could have gone either way. Hairs, back of heed spring to mind again. Its on You tube I think.

It was like that with Red and White Army against Norwich started in the SWC slowly not too loud but travelled around the stadium and lasted about 5-10 minutes with everyone on cue , not disjointed...the hairs on the back of my head stood up so much so I said to me lad that it was awsome...

    Lets give it ago

Watching the 1973 final on DVD that chant really stood out. Sounded immense.

Sadly, I don't think our supporters are capable of a slow chant. Even the Bob Marley one - which many didn't like, admittedly - was sang too fast. Sung at the proper pace of the song it would have been much better.
