Anyone think maybe he should start next game in place of Welbeck? Not sure how I feel about it, TBH, as I think with a couple starts he could come good. Thoughts?

He's getting better every match he plays part in, Give him the run of the park against the mags. Need more goal threat, He's a £13 million pound striker, Let him do his job!!

Looks hit or miss, but so does Welbeck, and when he hits as in at Blackburn he looks rather good.

Would have said yes after Monday but Welbeck was great today and it should have been Bent went off, as his poaching skills are wasted when we don't have the possession, whereas Gyan is more something out of nothing. Was definitely the wrong sub to make and it further ceded them the game.

Wellbeck was very unlucky not to score today, great stop from Friedel, Gyan fluffed a chance at the end but I think he'll only get better with more games and time.

We need someone to step up and score some goals though, if it weren't for Richard Dunne's comedy gaffe and Heskey's complete lack of goalscoring prowess today could've easily gone the other way.

Think we should put Gyan on against the mags, goal against them will do wonders for his confidence and will be shove towards making into the Sunderland legend we all hope he'll be.

I agree. His miss there was so clearly out of desperation to score. The lad wants to make his mark. Bruce needs to let him try. And that's taking nothing away from Welbeck today.

First time he saw their goal in fariness, if he he'd had some opportunities before that he would have done better
