Default Speed Limit late at night

Had to go airport last night to pick me mate up from Ibiza.

Driving 80mph on an empty road got pulled over, I questioned what the point of this was when the road was empty and I was hardly being a danger to anyone and he said just doing my job bollocks.

Got me thinking that seeing how quiet roads are, why aren't speed limits raised 10-20mph after 11 or so O'Clock? Would make sense to me.

Also as a side note, why can my car go fast when I can't legally drive over 70mph. Surely this is the manufacturer breaking the law by assisting criminal activity?

not really I'm a good driver and also if I want to be a danger to myself then that's up to me. Police wouldn't arrest me for handling electrical equipment with wet hands.

If the speed limit was raised at night it would just encourage the who congregate in derelict car parks in there shite hatchbacks at night, to convoy down the motorway at 90mph+.

    Let them I say

    1) It's unenforcable
    2) It wouldn't suit all stretches of all roads, which would add to 1)

Just do what the rest of us do and drive at whatever speed you want, but look out for the rozzers.

I agree. I'd rather they did 90 on a motorway than 60 in the centre of town, as is the current trend.

I suspect the reason that the speed limit isn't raised at night is that there's a higher percentage of tired drivers who are prone to making misjudgments.

Because instead of doing 80 you would have been doing 100mph

people who invariably are not good drivers normally say they are good drivers especailly young drivers.

if you get done speeding then just hold your hands up to it.. certainly not worth arguing the toss.

The police contrary to belief have an obligation to protect you from yourself...
