OT: Windows 7 help - access one PC from another?

I'm trying to get two Windows 7 PCs to be able to access the other one's hard disk. However, I'm getting an access not allowed error when I attempt this via my wireless router.

It sems to be more than an issue of setting up the hard drives of both as 'shared'.

Thoughts?

If they're both on Windows 7 you can make them join the Homegroup and set up file sharing. Sharing hard drives it might not let you, especially if the hard drives are the ones with windows installed on them - incase someone balls' up and deletes important files

What version of Windows have you got? Any version can connect, but you'll need Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise editions to set one up.

I've never managed to get homegroup to work.

You need to set up the sharing on the folder, that's all - works really well.
