Default We are at a crucial point in our history

We have stabilised in the Prem., we have buried the ghost of those 15 and 19 point years, and we have everything in place now to seriously have a go at breaking in to the top 10.

To do that we need to sign quality players - and with our set-up and backing surely we can seriously expect to do that.

On the other hand - should we drop our sights, should we hoover up average players like Bramble, the chance can slip through our fingers, and we've all been here so many times before.

Or am I being a real old pessimist and I should just go and have a beer and chill out?

you were saying we should be pushing for top 7 man, its never gonna happen

we arent that much of an attraction

drop ya expectations to around 12th and hope we have the odd cup run cos thats the best we can hope for these days

I agree completely, it just feels like to me we are going to miss another opportunity - Forget history, football is all about the here and now - and are we really that far away stadium, fanbase, money wise from Villa, Spurs, Everton?

No we are not - It feels to me like we have had 3 years of spending nigh on fortunes to get to within touching distance of the above (Or at least 20 - 30 million this summer on 4/5 quality additions to take us up to Villa/Everton level) - then suddenly at the exact point we need to kick on, the money/ambition appears to have gone? I can't think of any other reason for genuine links to frees, loans, cheap players and the Bramble's of this World.

    A missed opportuinty for me

The reality is either view is possible ...buying the sort of players who'd pretty much guarantee a top 7 place is probs not going to happen yet
...as has been said we aren't enough of a draw to attract that sort of player BUT WE COULD BE!

......Quinny, Ellis Short and Bruce are well aware of the type of player we need but despite the progress we've made the reality is that we finished 15th last season ..we went months getting slapped by just about every team away from home.
WHEN we've finished 7th we'll be able to attract the players to get us to 7th

..erm' I think there's a flaw there mebbes though!!

Yes we can do it but let's take it one season at a time eh'?

we are miles behind villa and spurs

they both are much more attraction propositions, have much better squads than us and have atleast as much spending power as us.

we've got no chance of pushing towards top 7

edit: perhaps short is sick of spunking shed loads of cash about

Spurs yes - Why exactly are we miles behind Villa or Everton? Learner is worth less then Short, Everton don't have much money, both get smaller gates.

I agree re their attraction, everything else wise there is not a huge amount between us
