Default Just stayed in an episode of Fawlty Towers

Just had a very pleasant weekend down south for my niece's christening but the pub I stopped in had an odd approach to customer service.
Was paying for B&B however breakfast is not available on a Monday. No explanation or warning when booking, just none available.
No access to rooms outside of pub opening hours. Pub is only open between 12-4 on a Sunday. You can ring them to open the doors outside of those hours but no guarantee anyone will answer.
Whilst pub was 'shut' last night, there was a full house for a pub quiz.
Said I would be checking out at 8.30 this morning and manager said he would meet me but didn't turn up. Tried ringing but no answer. Was locked in but luckily barmaid had given my parents her front door key last night so I could get out. I haven't paid my bill as nobody there.
To add to the Fawlty Towers theme, on hearing that the barmaid was German, an elderly guest from Jersey said "Ooh, the Germans occupied Jersey during the war."

Prince of Wales in Ampthill. Not really any reason for anyone to visit it unless you know people in Ampthill.
Only other option is the young uns pub which plays loud music until 3 but to be fair to them, they do make an effort. I'll just stay there next time and stay out with the young uns.

So you ran off without paying your bill, disgraceful behaviour.

There was little option although my parents are there for an extra night so they are going to settle the bill and I'll give them the cash.
I should have cleared the bar before I left though.

How can they get away with locking guests in at night. What if there was a fire & the barmaid hadn't fortunately lent her key to a guest?
